The S.A.F.E. Zones
S.A.F.E. on Set uses the 3 familiar “traffic light” colors to identify the S.A.F.E Zones

GREEN – Green is the “GOOD” zone.
It’s a clear indicator that you are in a good head space and free from feelings of anxiety or depression. For your teammates, it also gives them the green light to talk to you about what they may be experiencing- and that you are there to listen, support and advocate. Being green never felt so good 🙂
YELLOW – Yellow is a “CAUTION” zone.
Not good, not bad… but vulnerable. People bearing a yellow cone may be starting to experience symptoms, or concerned about possible triggers. While there is not an immediate concern, it’s a signal to implement coping strategies and start a conversation.
RED – Red is a “DANGER” zone.
It means ‘I am not myself and am experiencing anxiety. My reactions may not be typical for a given situation’. It’s time to put on your emotional armor – people in the red zone may lash out, may retreat (anxiety manifests differently for everyone) but it indicates that things are not well. Remember, identifying we need help is a huge step, and speaking up can be terrifying, so treat others how you would want to be treated. Be aware, be sensitive. Be a good teammate.
